US-China China Cultural Exchanges supported by HNA Group

HNAHNA Group donated 1,000 airline vouchers to the Asiatic society to support the educational and cultural exchange programs aimed at strengthening partnership between the United States and China.



HNA Group is the Asia Game Changer Diplomacy Champion Partner at Asia Society’s Annual Game Changer Awards.

Adam Tan, HNA Group CEO was pleased to support Asia Society and this move was to promote understanding,mutual respect and international relations between China and the US.

HNA has a history in supporting the cultural and business exchanges. The philanthropic efforts are focused on mutual benefits like education and healthcare. By supporting Asia Society HNA wants to establish unity in spirit and purpose.

During a special ceremony at the Chengdu Panda Base in Western China the donation was unveiled in conjunction with a new Game Changer Special Recognition Award. The award was presented to the species of the Giant Panda recognizing the important role it had played in the US-China diplomacy over the past 45 years.

The Panda has been a long-reigning diplomatic symbol of peace relations and increased economic and cultural engagement.

A critical step in relation between the two nations took place when President Nixon visited China in 1972. China gifted two Giant Pandas to the U.S. namely Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing.

Josette Sheeran, Asia Society President expressed their gratitude to HNA group in helping them build a vital bridge between the US, China and Asia. The contribution will further help in he establishment of greater dialogue and understanding at a critical time in the world.

The ticket voucher is applicable for HNA’s flagship carrier Hainan Airlines which had recently launched direct services between New York’s JFK and the cites of Chongqing and Chengdu, the home of Giant Panda.

The maiden flight from JFK to Chengdu was taken by Tom Nagorski, Asia Society’s Executive Vice President when he presented the award.

The tickets vouchers are for HNA’s flagship carrier Hainan Airlines, which last week launched direct services between New York’s JFK and the cities of Chongqing and Chengdu, home of the Giant Panda.
