Primera Air that is a crucial Danish air carrier will be soon launching transatlantic flights with single-aisle plane next year is ready to open bases in Paris at Birmingham and Stansted in the United Kingdom.
This Danish airline carrier is planning to fly daily to New York Newark and four times a week to Logan Airport in Boston.
The airline is now a part of Nordic tour operator and travel agency group named Prima Travel Group that would be operating the new Airbus A321 neo on the routes. This aircraft is actually a longer avatar of the A320 equipped with fuel-efficient engines having a range of 4,000 nautical miles or 7,400 kilometres and would be capable of seating up to 180 passengers.
The services would be functional with two economy and premium cabins.
The carrier is scheduled to take delivery of eight A321 neos next year and mentioned that it would be launching two more US services comprising a third from Stansted later next year.
Currently, it operates short haul flights around Europe with a fleet of nine Boeing 737s.
Primera Air has 20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on order apart from the A321s. Andri Ingolfsson who is the chairman and president said that with their new Airbus A321 neos would be operating routes traditionally served only by a wide-body aircraft.
Ingolfsson claimed that the product and service would fuse high quality and low fares.
Chief executive of London Stansted, Andrew Cowan said that there is a massive demand for flights to Boston and New York from London and the eastern part of England. Cowan added that they are eager to collaborate with Primera to add new routes.
Primera Travel Group functions in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Iceland and Finland.
