Due to the fears of ongoing unrest stemming from President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s official the State Department extended its warning.
The State Department has warned U.S diplomats and their families to avoid Jerusalem’s Old City over fears of violence.
Mr Trump said in a statement in Israel that he was determined this time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
After the relocation of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem the controversial decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital will happen. For now Mr Trump had signed the waiver delaying the move.
The waiver had been signed by former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama delaying the move of the U.S embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Trump further added that he was no closer to lasting peace agreement between Israel and Palestinians.
This move may seriously disrupt Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts said the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The State Department showed concerns about protests during Friday’s prayers.
