The Transportation Security Administration had declared on Thursday that it might make it tough to read X-rays of bags and therefore they would have to be removed from carry-on luggage.

Security officials have mentioned that extremist organizations like the Islamic State group continue to look for ways to attack civilian airlines.

TSA is making efforts to make the move to stay ahead of the evolving threat as per David Pekoske who is the TSA Administrator. In addition to screening personal electronic devices separately including tablets, laptops and handheld game consoles, TSA officers might instruct travellers to separate other items from carry-on bags for instance powders, foods and other materials that might clutter bags and obstruct clear images on the machine of the X-ray.

TSA mentioned that the new procedures have already been implemented and said it is likely to raise the wait in airport screening lines.
