Vancouver’s reputation as a major tourist hub is fast growing with its increasing air, water, road and rail routes. New travel options from tourism businesses are fast opening here with new, high-tech services and generating employment opportunities at the same time.
Support from the government is further accelerating this growth along with stable business environment and increased funding for tourism marketing and destination development. Flight Centre in Brisbane, Australia has its Canadian head office in Vancouver and employs around 150 people.
It has recently opened megastores downtown and in Kitsilano, which has wide, open spaces, multimedia touch-screen displays and maps on the wall. That’s the kind of growth expected to be seen in Vancouver. Expedia CruiseShipCenters, one of Canada’s largest and most successful franchise companies headquartered in Vancouver is also experiencing this change and growth. It hopes to double its stores and reach 500 locations by 2020.
Several other companies are expanding and opening up new, airy and spacious offices and Vancouver’s cruise market and flights through Vancouver International Airport are also expanding, which means growth in passenger numbers. Vancouver is considered by most tourists as a safe, friendly and beautiful travel option. Vancouver is increasingly growing as a cruise destination.
