Executive Director Rebekah Evans will step down from her leadership. She took the leadership on 15th July 2013 and she was responsible for overseeing the efforts to attract the tourists and the business travellers to Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura, known as Ventura County West. She took the power from Gary Wartik, who held the executive director position since VCLA was formed as a Tourism Business Improvement District in 2011.
Executive Director Rebekah Evans wrote in her formal letter it had truly been her privilege to help grow the Tourism Business Improvement District for the cities of Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo and Port Hueneme.
She later said she will be heading up the nonprofit marketing agency Visit Placer County as its new Chief Executive Officer. She will deliver here also her works with the same commitment and dedication that she showed in the previous position.
She served as Executive Director for 4 years with the incredible support of the staff and the dedicated board of directors.
A search for a new executive director for the nonprofit travel and tourism association will begin next week, said board Chairman Victor Dollar, who will be heading up the effort.
