According to Ali Asghar Mounesan, Iranian Vice-President and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organisation, among the Iranians, Georgia has proved itself as one of the top tourism destinations.
Today, the Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with Mounesan in China side by side attending the 22nd General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The duo highlighted the historic relationship that exists between Georgia and Iran, and talked about growing bilateral relations in different fields.
Also, the meeting discussed on the trade and economic and tourism relations.
“The Iranian Vice President stressed Iran’s increasing interest towards Georgia’s tourism potential and highlighted that among Iranians, Georgia is one of the top tourism destinations”, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. In the meantime n China, Janelidze is anticipated to deliver a speech at the UNWTO event that has started from September 11and will continue till 16.
The event welcomed over 1,500 delegates from 150 different nations all around the world.
Along with the General Assembly, Janelidze also organized a concise meeting with few Chinese authorities. Emphasizing the significance of creating people-to-people contacts and cooperation in the tourism sector, the Chinese side expressed thanks to the Georgian delegation for partaking in the General Assembly.
