According to the latest report released by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Vietnam has been ranked as the Asian region in terms of strongest travel growth since the beginning of 2017 and sixth out of ten countries around the world under the same category.
Palestine takes first place in the list of the top five countries and territories worldwide, with an increase of 57.8% in foreign arrivals, followed by Egypt, Northern Mariana Islands, Iceland and Tunisia.
With a huge surge in the worldwide tourism figures, more than 369 million international tourists have travelled across the globe in the first four months of this year – which amounts to more than 21 million against the same period of last year.
The same reviewed period also shows that the Asia and Pacific region recorded highest increase of 9%, which translates to 308 million visitors. Of this, 113.2 million international tourists visited the Southeast Asian destinations, which also mark an increase of 9% from 2015.
Vietnam welcomed more than 8.47 million foreign visitors in the first eight months of the year, up 29.7% against the same period of last year, while also serving 52.8 million domestic tourists. More than 10 million foreign tourists visited the country last year. Thanks to the indigenous cuisines and spectacular natural landscapes which attracts tourists from all across the globe.
