This brand new theme park would possess a Norse underworld, Viking feasts, fleet of longships, elves, dwarves, a mesmerizing forestworld inhabited by trolls and a shimmering lake.
This theme park would be opened in the western part of Haugesund in Norway that is famous as the ‘Homeland of Viking Kings’.
The place was once the royal seat of the Viking empire. Haugesund is also enriched with lighthouses, the sea, mountains, glaciers, waterfalls and fjords. It would be known as the Thors Rike. Thors Rike would also comprise rollercoasters, thrill rides and elaborate seats that permit visitors to travel back to the past to the ancient kingdom of the Vikings.
Similar to Disney, the blueprint of this theme park follows a design represented by an imposing castle that is visible from a long distance.
But then, unlike the fairy-tale magic, the castle at Thors Rike would represent the ruins of a former Viking era fort that bears the remnants of a crooked, choked tree and its twisted roots. From this point, the fort appears abandoned, and somewhat scary. The park is divided into six different portions as per the preliminary drafts.
At The Grotto, the guests would be visiting the Norse underworld through a watery log ride. Here, they would confront monsters from the Norse mythology.
At the Harbour Village, visitors would come across a pretty Viking hamlet on the banks of a shimmer lake and here a series of longships have been parked. Also, there is Valhalla where the guests are asked to participate in a Viking feast at the great hall of Odin.
Initially, the opening date for the theme park was decided to be next year.
But then, realistically, it seems that the theme park would be ready by 2019 or 2020.
