After spending some time at the UNWTO Gastronomy Conference in San Sebastian, Spain, I had flown in Charles de Gaulle airport after and was heading toward attending the new Villages Nature project located outside Paris.
Just by paying 22 Euros, my hotel told me that I could avail their bus services for about an hour to one and a half hour trip depending on traffic. Besides, I discovered a second option there of taking the TGV Train to the Marne-la-Vallée/ Chessy station by just paying 18.50 Euros which would take 9 minutes to reach. The train was quite fast than bus services and took approximately 10 minutes to reach.
Frank Hetherton, a Disney Imagineer, and one of the architects and master planners of this new resort welcomed me at the station by. After that, Frank took me to his offices where Silvia Barbone, director of the PM4SD program (Project Management for Sustainable Development), Marie Balmain, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs, and her associate Emilie Riesswe who were my colleagues and joined me.
The unique synergy between these two groups that was taking place came to my notice quickly. Disney is known to discover wealth of talent and experience creating magical, artistic, and imaginary worlds has collaborated with Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs, a development company popular for their love of nature, wildlife, and dwellings in the woods.
The synergy and creativity which the groups brought to the forefront behind the creation of Villages Nature is just an effective game changer for sustainable tourism.
