Nearby communities have been asked to remain vigilant as no evacuations have been made till now.
The sounds of the volcano were as loud as a train locomotive sending strong explosions almost rattling roofs and windows 30 km away. Particulate matter was also falling in eight nearby towns. The eruption triggered in the last week but recent explosion have intensifies the eruption to make authorities think of taking immediate action on evacuation.
The volcano erupted 13 times last year and stands some 12,300 feet above sea level in south-central Guatemala. Last year in February the airport had to be closed due to powerful eruptions.
