Virgin Trains has released tickets for an additional service for Lincoln City football fans travelling to London for the FA Cup quarter-final tie with Arsenal.
The extra service will leave Lincoln at 11h16 on Saturday and return at 21h20 from Kings Cross allowing fans plenty of time to get to the match and back. The usual 09h30 service will also be available for customers to catch from Lincoln and the 18h08 on the return.
Tickets for the quarter-final match have sold out while train tickets for the additional service are available from today onwards.
Natasha Wilding, General Manager for the central region for Virgin Trains on the east coast said: “We are pleased to be putting on additional services for the Lincoln City fans and to be able to participate in a once in a lifetime day for them. We wish the Lincoln City football team the best of luck.”
Lincoln will be playing Arsenal on Saturday March 11 at Emirates Stadium for the biggest game in the Imps’ history.
Weekday direct services from Lincoln to King’s Cross depart at 07h30 and return at 19h06. Virgin Trains recently announced the end of its £50M fleet refurbishment which saw a significant boost to customer satisfaction scores in the annual NRPS results. There was a 10% rise in scores for the upkeep and repair of trains and an 8% increase in the comfort of train seats.
