As CTO, Saoji will be responsible for executing Sabre’s technology strategy centered on scaling world class platform capabilities and migrating to an open system environment. Sabre continues its transformation into a more SaaS/Cloud native technology environment that leverages platforms to scale its solutions for its customer base that supports airlines, hotels, travel agents, TMCs and corporate customers. Sabre had previously announced Joe DiFonzo as its new CIO, creating two senior executive positions dedicated to technology management to provide additional resources and leadership. With Saoji’s hiring, Sabre has completed filling its senior leadership team in conjunction with Sean Menke assuming the role of CEO in December 2016.
Saoji will join Sabre from GE Healthcare Digital, where he serves as CTO for Software Engineering and is responsible for a global team tasked with technology engineering, product portfolio and cloud platform strategies. Prior to GE Healthcare Digital, he held engineering and management positions at GE Digital, EMC, and Oracle. A native of India, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Amravati University and a master’s degree in Computer Management from the University of Pune. In addition, he completed Harvard Business School’s General Management Program.
