The branding for its “Visit ASEAN@50 Golden Celebration 2017” tourism campaign was disclosed by ASEAN at the ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Laos. It was unveiled by 10 ASEAN heads of state. This new campaign will commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN in 2017 and embrace the region as a single, united but diverse tourism destination.
The campaign will also focus on increasing international visitors and tourism receipts in Southeast Asia. Various promotions and activities will be carried on to drive the campaign, which will be revealed at the ITB Asia travel industry show in Singapore in October. Special travel offers will be announced at the World Travel Market in London in November.
Southeast Asia is the world’s fastest growing tourism destination. Target markets for this campaign will be Europe, Middle East and North America, as well as intra-ASEAN, China, Japan, Korea, India and Australia. Special activities at the ASEAN@50 campaign will include media familiarization trips showcasing ASEAN connectivity and multi-country travel routes; tour packages with special offers and discounts; Print and online advertising, as well as TV, video and promotions; social media campaigns; promotional programs by ASEAN’s national tourism offices targeting trade, consumer and MICE markets among many others.
