A BBC Travel digital feature by Alameda-based travel writer Andy Murdock was named the Grand Prize winner of Visit California’s annual Eureka! travel writing competition, one of five categories awarded today. The fourth annual awards competition showcases the best work by California-based digital content creators and travel writers.
“Travel writers paint an authentic picture of the experiences and treasures that make a destination unique,” said Visit California President & CEO Caroline Beteta. “California-based writers are passionate about The Golden State, where the possibilities for discovery are endless.”
Murdock’s winning piece celebrates John Muir’s historic travels between San Francisco and Yosemite. Winning entries included California-focused travel stories published in national and international media.
