Visit California will hold a statewide press call at 1:30 p.m. May 2, to present and discuss a new economic report of a sixth consecutive year of growth for California tourism. The report will be released at 10 a.m. May 2 and offer the latest statewide, regional and county-level economic data, including visitor spending, employment in the industry, and local and state tax revenue.
Visit California President and CEO Caroline Beteta will connect the report’s findings to how visitor spending benefits businesses, fuels economic development and enables community improvements in all corners of the state. She will also answer questions and explain how Visit California plans to continue expanding California’s tourism economy in the years ahead.
The release of the report, which is compiled on behalf of Visit California by Dean Runyan Associates, will kick off California’s statewide celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week. The statewide media call will immediately follow the Orange County Visitor Association’s 8th Annual OC Tourism Conference. Orange County Visitors Association President and CEO Ed Fuller will join Beteta on the call, highlighting the value of National Travel and Tourism Week, and what efforts destinations across the state are doing to ensure California remains the premier travel destination in the United States.
