Lately, VisitEngland introduced a £2.5 million ‘Join the World – Discover the UK’ digital and social media campaign to motivate young minds from Great Britain and Northern Ireland to indulge in vacation at home with reference to the most recent figures that unveiled that tourists between 16 to 34 years took 1.4 million less vacations at home in 2016 in comparison to a decade.
VisitEngland’s new campaign is all set to focus this ‘lost generation’ utilizing the influencers and travelers of foreign social media to display to other fellow travelers the remarkable moments they spent vacationing at home in the UK.
The campaign is conducted in collaboration with the national tourism organizations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and different tourism businesses and destination management organizations all through UK.
A branch of the government of UK’s Great Britain campaign Join the World – Discover the UK is hopeful to create over one million more overnight stays with a growth of £80 million to the economy.
UK Government Minister for Tourism John Glen said, “There is an incredible amount to see and do across the whole of the UK and we want to inspire more young people to take in our world-class attractions, sites and cities.
“Tourism boosts our economy, creates jobs and supports local businesses. By showcasing the exciting and diverse range of trips on offer I hope it will encourage many more young people to explore the UK.”
