The Malaysia campaign highlights destinations such as Perth, Rottnest Island, Margaret River and the Turquoise Coast, with a free quokka-themed children’s book for all Perth packages booked by June 30.
Around 60 media and travel industry representatives attended the afternoon tea and cooking demonstration in Kuala Lumpur, where Chef Wan used WA products to prepare fish tagine and an orange and avocado Catalan salad.
Guests also received Australian snacks and a souvenir apron.
Tourism WA is also supporting Tourism Australia’s new print and digital campaign with Malaysia Airlines, which aims to inspire Malaysians to explore aquatic Australia.
Malaysia is WA’s third biggest international tourism market for both visitor numbers and spend, with 80,400 visitors spending almost $200 million in the State in 2015.
