The Australian actor, recently appointed as Tourism Australia’s global ambassador, narrates the campaign films for the There’s Nothing Like Australia campaign, which showcases coastal and aquatic experiences.
Rottnest is the focus destination for the WA video and also features in the national clip.
The island also has its own 360-degree video as part of the $40 million television, print and online campaign, which includes a magazine featuring stories on Fremantle, Cottesloe, Rottnest, Rockingham dolphins, Ningaloo, the Pinnacles, Monkey Mia, Margaret River, whale watching, the Cape To Cape walk, Denmark, Broome and the Kimberley’s Horizontal Falls.
Tourism Australia will be rolling out the new campaign in key tourism markets across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Tourism WA worked closely with Tourism Australia and its production team to guide the location choice for the WA film shoot in November at Rottnest’s Mabel Cove, Fish Hook Bay, Parakeet Bay, Herschel Lake and Pinky Beach.
Tourism WA’s USA representatives attended the campaign launch in New York City, and two days of media meetings with major travel publications.
Next month, Tourism WA will host a WA-specific event in Los Angeles, prior to the Australia Marketplace 2016 and the Australian Tourism Summit.
