Wales is failing to reach its full potential in attracting high-spending international tourists. Figures show that 14 tourist information centres (TICs) in Wales have closed in the past five years. However, Economy Secretary Ken Skates said that the future of Wales tourism lies in using digital technology.
Last year, Wales attracted more than one million overseas visitors while Scotland welcomed 2.7m overseas visitors over the same period. Innovative and creative approaches are needed to lure more global tourists.
For looking into the future, making use of digital technology in tourism can fetch new avenues for Wales tourism.
