Walter Mzembi in all these months has extensively traveled all over the world in order to connect with different governments of various countries citing them his visions of global tourism if he is elected the next Secretary General.
He is continuing his world tour to outreach international support to become the next secretary general of UNWTO. The election will take place in Madrid from 11th to 12th May 2017. Saudi Arabia, Iran, and India are the recently traveled countries by Walter Mzembi. A temporary stop was made in Istanbul, where his two counterpart Ministers from Azerbaijan and Ghana accompanied him in the tour. Both were UNWTO Executive Council members. Mzembi participated in the 2017 World Tourism Forum in Istanbul. Finally, he stopped at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. Mzembi met with the 51 African Permanent Representatives to the UN under the chairmanship of the African Union Permanent Delegate to the UN Organizations located in Geneva. The same representatives have administrative oversight for the African Union at the UNWTO located in Madrid. He will spend few days in Harare before he starts his next mission with his final visit listed on mid-April till early May.
