A compensation of £500k has been granted to Warwickshire in order to fund, render support and provide an impetus to the tourism industry across the county. The landowners, rural communities, charities and public bodies in the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership area are the key reasons why the funding was provided.
Special emphasis was given projects which are in need to create more jobs, extend the tourism season, encourage business partnerships and develop wide array of tourist attractions.
To quote Monica Fogarty from Warwickshire County Council, ‘tourism makes a major contribution to Warwickshire’s economy not only in monetary terms but also in creating employment throughout the whole of the county. These grants will help to create sustainable local jobs for local people.’
