MTA Long Island Rail Road customers traveling on the Ronkonkoma, Babylon, Montauk, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead branches over the weekend of Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, are advised to plan ahead and should allow extra travel time as the LIRR replaces switches in Bethpage that are used to switch trains from one track to another. Starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, September 16, one of two tracks between Hicksville and Farmingdale will be taken out of service to accommodate the weekend work. Customers can pick up a copy of the Special Weekend Timetable showing revised train times for each of the seven branches. Here is a branch-by-branch summary of key changes:
Note: Some Babylon, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead branch trains that normally connect to these Ronkonkoma Branch trains, for travel to Woodside, will have different connections.
