Volkswagen enters e-mobility with the public launch of its WeShare operation in Berlin. A fleet of 1,500 e-Golfs, with 500 e-up! cars to be added in a few months will be offered.
Vulog is known to power the largest ever all- electric car-sharing service which is a shared mobility technology provider.
The fleet of electric Volkswagen cars will be accessible by the app-based WeShare from their smartphones on an instant ‘free-floating’ basis. It intends that they can begin and end their journeys at their desired location across Berlin.
After debut in the German capital Volkswagen is expected to launch WeShare in several more cities like Prague, Hamburg and across Europe.
Gregory Ducongé, chief executive of Vulog was proud to support one of the world’s leading carmakers for its entry into the fast-growing car sharing market.
He said that WeShare is going to drastically change the way people move in Berlin, and allow urban users to engage with e-mobility.
Now all the carmakers have am incredible opportunity in front of them to transform urban mobility by deploying large shared electric fleets into their cities where sustainable mobility has become a top priority.
Due to the huge flagship project in Berlin, Volkswagen is known to lead the movement.
