The complimentary night is at the Scenic Hotel on Tonga’s main island of Tongatapu and can be added before or after the eight-night,whale-swim itinerary. The four-hour tour of Tongatapu departs and concludes at the hotel and includes visits to the Royal Palace – the official residence of the King of Tonga, the Royal Tombs, and the site where Captain Cook landed on April 30, 1777. The tour will also take guests to the town’s markets, impressive blowholes off the island’s coast and ‘Ha’amonga ‘a Maui’ – a huge stone arch which stands 5m-high, weighs 80 tonnes and is believed to have been built around 1200AD.
The whale-swim tours depart August 14 and September 11, 2017, and allow Australians to swim with the graceful humpbacks in the turquoise waters of Tonga off the idyllic, tropical island of Ha’apai, north off the kingdom’s main island. There guests stay in beachside bungalows where all main meals are provided.
The tours include five guided days of snorkeling with the whales from a catamaran. Guests will also have opportunities to snorkel on coral reefs, laze in hammocks on white sandy beaches and get a taste of Tongan culture. Majestic staff also remain with guests throughout the time at Ha’apai, assisting with the whale swims and sharing their knowledge of and love for the humpbacks.
As an environmentally conscious company passionate about whale preservation, Majestic Whale Encounters is an active member of The World Cetacean Alliance, promoting responsible whale watching worldwide.
The tours cost from A$4000 per person, twin-share, and includes all transfers, most main meals, five whale-swimming days, seven nights in beachfront bungalows and two nights at the Scenic Hotel in Tongatapu, including the free night if booked by March 31, 2017.
