Sure, you still have plenty of holiday shopping to do, but with Old Man Winter fast approaching, it’s never too soon to think about that much-deserved summer vacation. Starting in April 2016, Spirit Airlines will begin new seasonal daily service between the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and the Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). So whether you’re looking to check out the Liberty Bell, stroll along the Freedom Trail, or escape to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Spirit is giving you more go for a dream summer getaway.
Spirit’s new seasonal service between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Philadelphia will operate from April 14, 2016 through November 9, 2016, and between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Boston will operate from April 28, 2016 through September 7, 2016.
“We are excited to bring more low fare choices to the Twin Cities just in time for summer,” said Mark Kopczak, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines. “Our super low Bare Fares™, with Frill Control™ will give more go to customers who previously couldn’t afford a summer getaway.”
Today’s news follows Spirit’s recent announcement of new daily nonstop service between MSP and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), also starting in April 2016. With these additions, Spirit will operate nonstop service from Minneapolis-St.Paul to 16 cities, including Atlanta (starting 4/14/2016), Baltimore/Washington DC, Boston (starting 4/28/2016), Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia (starting 4/14/2016), Phoenix, and Tampa/St. Petersburg.
“Spirit Airlines’ steady growth at MSP — including these two new East Coast destinations – affirms the region’s appetite for low-cost air travel services,” said Jeff Hamiel, executive director/CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission. “We’re pleased Spirit has found MSP to be an airport where it can prosper, while providing low-cost airfares to the traveling public.”
