Jumeirah, the global luxury hospitality group and member of Dubai Holding, is delighted to announce its Dubai based water park Wild Wadi has received a ‘Brass Ring Award’ for developing one of the industry’s best training programmes.
The award was presented at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ (IAAPA), Brass Ring Awards in Orlando, Florida. Wild Wadi won ‘Best Innovation in a Training Programme,’ in the Human Resource excellence category, for amusement facilities with an attendance of under one million.
Chris Perry, General Manager of Wild Wadi, said: “The award was based on Wild Wadi’s successful 2013 engagement strategy ‘Think Like A Guest’ (TLAG). This was established at the Executive Team’s strategy retreat where they were required to think differently because of new competition in the market. As part of TLAG, all colleagues were given a work day to experience the park as a guest and then took part in engagement sessions to give feedback on what went well and also where we need to improve. Further training has been given to develop the new services offered within the park. TLAG continues to live on at Wild Wadi – the concept is what brings us all together to drive better services for guests.”
Organised annually by IAAPA, the event is the premier global expo for the attractions industry and enables interested parties to experience the latest products and innovations in the market. The IAAPA is the largest international trade association for amusement facilities worldwide. Founded in 1918, the IAAPA helps members improve efficiency, marketing, safety and profitability while maintaining the highest possible professional standards in the industry.
