Wit & Wisdom, A Tavern by Michael Mina invites wine and travel enthusiasts to learn about the world of wine by tasting like a pro this holiday season with Cellar Sessions, an interactive wine tasting series hosted by Lead Sommelier Julie Dalton at Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore. Throughout December and January, guests will have an exclusive opportunity to attend a variety of interactive, approachable wine tasting classes.
The first four classes will occur twice a month through December to January with varying curriculum and price points: Basic Food and Wine Pairing, A Tour of Champagne Terroirs and Styles, Old World vs. New World Experience and A Tour of Italy. Each class will last approximately two hours and can accommodate up to 24 attendees. Continued class topics will be announced in January 2016.
Volume 1: Basic Food and Wine Pairing – Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:30 pm

This introductory class is designed for those wanting to develop a good foundation of wine knowledge and an understanding of how to taste wine. Six wines will be paired with different food components to illustrate the different flavours.
Volume 2: A Tour of Champagne Terroirs and Styles – Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2:30 pm
USD 179 per person
Six wines will illustrate regional and stylistic differences across Champagnes.
Volume 3: Old World vs. New World Experience – Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:30 pm
USD 95 per person
Eight wines, four white and four red, will illustrate similar grape varieties grown on opposite sides of the world. Guests will then have an open discussion with Julie Dalton regarding the different terroirs and winemaking styles.
Volume 4: A Tour of Italy – Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2:30 pm
USD 147 per person
Guests will have the opportunity to soak in the deliciousness of Italian wine with eight wines that showcase eight different grapes from eight different regions.
