An extremely sought-after destination, the Rann Of Kutch is quite popular amongst the little ones, as it’s a smorgasbord of bright colours, fun activities and exciting sights, providing varied experiences in every way possible.
That’s why, if you’re visiting Kutch with your kids, then the Rann Utsav should be at the top of your list. A beautiful mixture of the ethnic flavours and creative ingenuity of the local craftsmen, the festival will give your little ones an excellent insight into some of India’s finest handicrafts and the most exquisite embroidery and mirror work. These are something that’s definitely an amazing learning experience for a child of any age.
Along with that, your little ones can also enjoy horse rides, camel rides, net cricket, table tennis and many more fun games, while you will get an opportunity to try your hand at activities like paramotoring, archery, star gazing, rifle shooting and trikee.
Once the sports and games are done, a walk on the mesmerizing expanse of the White Rann is something else that your little ones will definitely enjoy, along with the unique wildlife, something else that’s a major draw for children. The little Rann Of Kutch is home to Flamingo City, the only place in India, where pink flamingos regularly gather every year in order to breed, and also a sanctuary for the Indian Wild Ass, one of the three surviving species of Wild Ass in the world. Apart from this, you will also get a chance to see rare and endangered animal species like the Chinkara, Desert Fox, jackal, Desert Cat, Caracal, Blackbuck, Striped Hyena, and over 350 unique bird species.
After you’re done with the Rann Of Kutch, there are quite a few other notable destinations nearby, that will give you and your kids a very unique perspective into the history of the area. For instance, Dholavira is an actual excavation site, containing the ruins of one of the five most prosperous cities from Harappan times and the Aina Mahal, a 250-year-old palace is a blend of Indian and European artistry, with walls of white marble, covered by mirrors. But if beaches are more your idea of the perfect vacation, then the sun-kissed sands and cool, breezy waters of Mandvi beach will be the perfect end to your vacation.
“The Rann Of Kutch is increasingly becoming quite popular year-after-year, and we attribute this rising popularity to its ability to mix in learning opportunities with plenty of fun,” says Nidhi Batra, Little Nirvana Explorers’ co-founder. “That’s why, through our group tour, we are aiming to bring the unique aspects of The Rann Of Kutch into the limelight.”
