Subjected to approval from the aviation regulator the airline will start its operation in the UK in March 2018 with different UK registered aircraft.
Jozsef Varadi, CEO, said that he was pleased that they were seeking a UK AOC operating licence holding onto to their commitment to the important UK market. Further development in the business will bring additional investment and and create new job opportunities to the UK base at London Luton.
The London Luton base will be encompassed by the Wizz Air UK and it is expected to employ over 100 personnel that will be including pilots and cabin crew by the end of 2018.
Wizz Air Hungary will operate routes not taken over by the Wizz Air UK. It will maintain and continue to expand the group’s network of 41 routes from the Luton airport.
Varadi further added that UK being the single biggest travel market in the Europe this move will help to broaden the strategy. Wizz Air being the UK’s 8th largest operator the company looks forward to work with the CAA and take the application forward.
