Wizz Air makes emergency landing due to medical urgency, women dies

After a women became critically and later died on board a Wizz Air flight W6 6411 made an emergency landing in Belgrade.

 

The passenger started feeling unwell after the flight took off from Kutaisi, Georgia and departed for Milan, Italy on Monday.

 

 

Before the flight diverted to the Serbian capital, the crew provided her with all the assistance to the unnamed women so that she could receive further medical assistance on ground , however she was ultimately pounced dead.

 

 

The airline stated that on December 17, 2018 Wizz Air’s W6 6411 Kutaisi-Milano Malpensa was diverted to Belgrade after a passenger faced medical emergency.

 

 

Further information of the passenger is not available due to privacy concern and the airlines flight crew provided emergency care for the passenger on board and medical assistance was arranged by the crew to be waiting for the aircraft in Belgrade.

 

 

Wizz Air regretted that despite the instant and professional medical assistance by the crew on the flight and post landing by the medical staff in Belgrade the passenger passed away.

 

 

The airline expressed deep condolences to the family of the passenger.

 

 

The  slated departure time of the flight was 3.50pm and its arrival in Italy was at  5.15pm local time.   The A320 aircraft was delayed by an hour and 25 minutes after it made emergency landing. It departed Belgrade at 6.50pm and arrived Milan at 8.15pm.
