The year’s most confronting and compelling press photos from around the globe will be shown in Auckland from 4-26 July as part of the World Press Photo Exhibition 2015.
The World Press Photo competition is the world’s leading contest for professional press photographers, photojournalists and documentary photographers, setting the standard for the profession.
This year’s competition drew entries from 5692 photographers from 131 countries. A total of 97,912 images were entered in the contest. The exhibition, which travels the world, showcases the winners of this competition which has been dubbed “The Oscars” of press photography.
The exhibition will be brought to the city by the Rotary Club of Auckland and contains 134 photographs. It promises to be as engaging and thought provoking as ever – with the winning images bringing attention to issues and events from 2014, every year thousands of people throughout the world seek out the exhibition to engage with it. Definitely not-to-be-missed!
