World’s best writers and thinkers arrive in New Zealand for Auckland Writers Festival

Auckland Writers Festival, which is underway, offers seven days of good times and great ideas with the world’s best writers and thinkers.

For the past 18 years, the festival has enriched the culture of the city and established itself as a major Australasian festival.

Every year, over 200 public events are staged, gathering together 230 of the world’s best writers and thinkers with over 75,000 festival goers, to celebrate the world of books and ideas.

The festival brings the very best local and international writers of contemporary fiction and non-fiction, scientists, economists, poets, journalists and public intellectuals together with audiences to explore ideas, share stories and experience brilliant conversations.

The festival celebrates curiosity and a sense of intellectual adventure and is driven by the desire to spark ideas.
