From January 20 to February 5, 2017, the team at YEW seafood + bar is excited to participate in Canada’s biggest culinary festival – Dine Out Vancouver. This will be a fantastic opportunity for guests old and new to experience the menu of Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and YEW seafood + bar’s new Executive Chef Weimar Gomez.
In his special Dine Out menu, Gomez will be showcasing his breadth of international culinary talent in a range of dishes that focus on YEW’s commitment to sustainable seafood, with Sommelier Adam Mayhew’s suggested British Columbian wine pairings. The Dine Out menu will be revealed on the Dine Out and YEW websites on January 9, 2017. Reservations will be available via Dine Out and YEW.
YEW and Bittered Sling bringing back, by popular demand, the Robbie Burns Celebration: Seminar & Dinner on January 24 and 25, 2017
This whisky-driven event celebrates Scotland’s favourite son Robbie Burns with a collaborative menu between YEW’s own Chef Weimar Gomez, Bittered Sling’s Chef Jonathan Chovancek and award-winning mixologists Lauren Mote and Charles Joly. Mote and Joly will combine their talents to create a cocktail pairing menu and presentation for the alternating dishes served by the featured chefs, and the featured whiskies. Lauren Mote – World Class Canada Bartender of the Year 2015, Co-proprietor of Bittered Sling and Four Seasons Beverage Consultant – welcomes her industry colleague and friend, Chicago’s Charles Joly – World Class USA & Global Bartender of the Year 2014, Founder of Crafthouse Cocktails, and James Beard Award-Winner – as the very special international guest for the event. Attending guests will surely be the beneficiaries of this flavourful and entertaining evening, in this ultimate Scottish celebration of sprits, cocktails and food. Guests will also enjoy a spirited master class of drams at the beginning of the evening led by whisky experts Mote and Joly. Tickets are limited to forty guests.
YEW plays host to four Cocktail Masterclasses led by award-winning bartender Lauren Mote
Guests can chose their preferred themes from France, Scotland, Latin American and Bitters 101. Each interactive masterclass offers a welcome cocktail, followed by a full tasting of regional spirits, as well as two additional cocktails. Cocktails will be paired with delicious small plates from Executive Chef Weimar Gomez representing the highlighted theme.
All guests will take home recipes to replicate their learnings at home, and the Bittered Sling Gift Pack 3.0. Masterclasses are priced at CAD 88 per person and can accommodate 25 guests.
