In order to grow the number of Chinese visitors, Zambia Tourism Agency or ZTA explains that it’s crucial that Zambia increases its tourism promotional programs. The country has more than 100 million nationals exploring various destinations worldwide.
Felix Chaila, executive director of ZTA expressed that Zambia needs to market her culture dynamically to the world in order to tap into the Chinese tourism and place herself in such a way that it can profit from the high inflow of Chinese nationals who are discovering different exotic sites across the globe.
Mr Chaila highlighted that the forthcoming Zambia Week exposition can prove to be a great chance for the country to market and showcase the potentiality of its tourism and draw Chinese nationals to experience the tourism of this land.
He also said that the agency will utilize the exposition to endorse different facets of Zambian local tourism like fashion shows, cultural exhibitions, and dance performances so that Chinese nationals can enjoy and appreciate Zambia’s culture.
“The Zambia Week is significant in the promotion of tourist arrivals from China because it still tops the world in terms of outbound tourists. Over 100 million Chinese are travelling every year,” Mr Chaila said.
He explained that cultural tourism is the fundamental aspect and plays a vital role in promoting and sustaining tourism development of a country as it is the first point of contact for travelers coming to a new country.
