Walter Mzembi, requests the media to start marketing the country to attract more travelers by portraying as one of the secured nations in the world. He mentioned this last week while speaking at national editor’s nation branding workshop.
The minister’s ministry has many potential sites to look after. New investments are essential to perk up the standard of the facilities and also to introduce new schemes as when required. Though its quite known to everyone that few tourists destinations in the require immediate government attention. This has been accepted by the National Tourism Policy which was introduced by Mzembi in the year 2014.
Those places have been described by the ministry as ‘dilapidated tourism facilities’ that needs renovation. We know that Victoria Falls International Airport has been refurbished into a superlative airport by the Govt. As a result, the airport experienced more international airlines landing.
This should be an eye-opener by highlighting the fact that refurbishment in infrastructure can create positive impact with increased visitor numbers. The Zimbabwe destinations are not linked by any tourism source market by air.
