This year, the tourism sector of New Zealand is all geared up to attract more tourists and gain better revenue. As expressed in Business Chronicle, the top officials associated with tourism and hospitality said that in the coming year’s new airlines is in the pipeline which will give a new dimension to the sector with better revenue generation.
For the first time, Ethiopian Airlines landed in Victoria Falls after the South African Airways. Besides, Kenyan Airways is also expected to fly into Victoria Falls for the first time with an air link to South Africa in the coming months. Mr. Ross Kennedy, Africa Albida Tourism chief executive believes that the approval of Ethiopian Airlines to land in Zimbabwe is one of the major catalysts for the growth of tourism.
To quote Mr. Ross, ‘It was another historic day for the aviation industry in Africa and for the African travel tourism sector with additional airlift and new route linkages opening.
Tourists can now fly from Washington to Victoria Falls with a less than two-hour stopover in Addis Ababa.’ Since last year, many new eateries and restaurants have been developed with the commissioning of the airport. To quote the chief executive, ‘This is a sign of approval of our destination by players around the world and a sign of better things to come.’
