Mrs. Vinita Singal

Maharashtra has the biggest network of tourist sites. Mumbai is a world-class city in Maharashtra. Travellers get unlimited fun right from the beginning. They get iconic places in Mumbai, right from the Marine drive, Asiatic library to the iconic historical sites.

From Mumbai, one can move to Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad. Pune is a historical city with lots of historical structure and a lot of educational hubs.

If people are interested in wine, spiritual and adventure tourism, they should visit Nashik.

In Nagpur, there is a huge amount of wildlife tourism. Maharashtra has more tigers than the rest of the country. If one comes in the right season, one can spot tigers playing with cubs. This will be an incredible experience.

A little upwards from Mumbai, scuba diving and other water sports facilities are available along the coastal belt.

People from Russia Sweden, Denmark, and Thailand among other places visit Maharashtra.

The government is also promoting Fort Tourism. Facilities have been made available in the forts-turned-resorts where people can understand the old architecture. The fort, spiritual, wine and other tourism have been knitted together in the modern perspective.

Mrs. Vinita Singal, Secretary of Tourism & Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Maharashtra, divulges about what makes Maharashtra interesting for travellers in a conversation with Travel and Tour World.
