17 million visited Ho Chi Minh City

According to the Department of Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City has welcomed 17 million visitors in the first six months of the year. It included 4.3 million foreign trips and this was up 10 per cent year-on-year.


In the first half of the year tourism receipts were estimated to be 73 trillion dong and a year-on-year increase of 17 per cent.

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, deputy director of the department said that the department will continue to diversify and improve tourism products and services in the last six month of the year.

Farmer households in Can Gio and Cu Chi districts will be encouraged to develop eco-tourism and agro-tourism models.

Thousands of visitors are attracted by many agro-tourism which includes Green Noen  in An Nhon Tay commune and Hai Thah Koi Farm in Cu Chi district Trung An commune and Vam Sat ecological tourist site in Can Gio district.

The country’s largest international travel event – the 15th edition of International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to take place from September 5-7 at the Saigon Exhibition Convention Centre.


Industry players will be able to showcase the latest tourism products, innovations and services  in their annual event along with offering networking opportunities with thousands of buyers and visitors from across the world.
