20 percent increase in tourists visiting Croatia

croatiaThe Croatian National Tourist Board announced that during the first five months of 2018 there was a robust growth in the tourism industry,  about 20 percent more tourists visited Croatia.

 

 

As per the tourist traffic recorded in commercial and non-commercial facilities and the nautical charter, there were 3.6 million arrivals (19 percent increase) and 11.6 overnight stays (24 percent increase) between the period from January to May this year.

 

 

Minister of Tourism Gari Capelli said that the Croatian tourism over the period of two years achieved a growth of more than 35 percent of tourist traffic. He believes that it will have  a positive impact on the continued growth of tourism revenues. This will keep motivating to build on the success of tourism here.

 

 

The Croatian coast — in Istria, Dalmatia and Dubrovnik saw the maximum overnight stays and in May thee was 20 percent more arrival and 39 percent of overnight stays as compared to May 2017.

 

 

Visitors from Germany, Austria and Slovenia visited Croatia this year.
