china travelOver the last weekend, an overwhelming number of Chinese tourists had rushed to the popular sightseeing spots across the nation to celebrate the May Day holiday.

And, a few of these tourists had decided to rush to a swinging bridge that is located in Jiangxi province. The Internet has been flooded with photographs showing over 20 tourists who desperately cling to the bridge after the bridge they were walking on abruptly overturned causing panic.

This incident occurred in a spectacular local outside Nanchang that is the capital of Jiangxi on Sunday.

The local media has reported that the issue was triggered by the bridge being overloaded by the weight of the crowds of May Day. Chinese netizens believe that it might also have been caused by a tourist who might have made attempts to make the bridge sway.

Currently, the cause of the incident is being investigated.

The incident occurred two weeks after another bridge had collapsed at a popular tourist locale in Jiangxi that had sent nine Hong Kong tourists to the hospital.

Chinese tourist sites across the nation are presently in the midst of a bridge-building mania, especially the ones with glass bottoms.
