In 2019, Mongolia earned USD607.2 million from tourism

On Saturday, the official data was published and it showed that Mongolia earned total of USD607.2 million from tourism in 2019. This was a rise of 10.2 percent from the previous year.

 

The Environment and Tourism Ministry of Mongolia explained that the country greeted about 577,300 international tourists in the year. This was a rise of 9.1 percent compared to 2018.

 

The ministry stated that the Chinese tourists comprised of more than one third of the total international visitors to the country in the year.

 

The country has been introducing more and more campaigns to enhance its economy by improving the tourism as the Mongolian economy depends a lot on export earnings from the mining sector.
