Due to the grounding of Boeing 737 Max after two fatal crashes in October, American Airlines on Sunday announced the extension of flight cancellation through April 24 along with the reduction in additional flights.
The airlines stated that it is cancelling about 90 flights a day which is the second-largest U.S. operator of the MAX in the United States having 24 jets while Southwest Airlines has 34.
About 85 flights a day were operative out of its 6,700 daily departures on the 737 MAX planes by the American Airlines earlier this month when the grounding was announced.
The announcements were made to provide more certainty to the customers and team meners and offer protection to their customers on their other flights to their final destination.

American said earlier this month it was flying about 85 flights a day out of its 6,700 daily departures on 737 MAX planes when the grounded was announced.
In April Boeing is working on a software update to the plane’s computer system along with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
This weekend American, Southwest and United Airlines will meet to review the Software upgrade.
