Tourism investment in Arab is expected to reach U.S. dollars 323 billion by the end of 2020 as per Arab Tourism Organisation. As per Dr. Bandar bin Fahad Al Fuhaid, President of the Arab Tourism Organisation, the tourism sector is expected to directly contribute to the employment of 10 million people which is nearly 12 per cent of all jobs in the Arab world.
Oman attracted 1,472,231 tourists from other GCC countries in 2018, according to NCSI data. The common human and cultural values in the Arab society, is a major factor for promoting the Arab tourism exchange.
About 182,377 tourists from other Arab states visited the Sultanate in 2018. Last year, 153,588 tourists from other GCC states and 22,306 from other Arab countries travelled during the Khareef season and Salalah Tourism Festival.
Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrizi, Minister of Tourism said: “We look forward to working with our brotherly Arab countries to activate and enhance joint tourism efforts.”
The minister added that the efforts of the Sultanate and its farsighted government led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said are aimed at achieving the principles and objectives of the comprehensive and sustainable development in all sectors.
