air-indiaAn Air India flight that was travelling from Bagdogra to New Delhi has suffered a mid-air crisis after a failed air-conditioning system had left the travellers sweating and gasping for breath.

Thereafter, the passengers vigorously started fanning themselves with pamphlets and other things for comfort.

The ACs were not backed up even after repeated complaints to the cabin crew members. The flight AI-880 that is an Airbus 320 had taken off from Bagdogra in Darjeeling district of West Bengal around 1.55 p.m. and within the next half an hour the passengers realized that the ACs were not functioning and complained to the cabin crew.

The airline travellers told the media that the emergency oxygen masks were not functioning properly.

Air India had hit the rock bottom in terms of profit. It declared the issue as a technical one and promised a swift inquiry into the matter. Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has decided to privatize Air India to make it economically viable.
