Adelaide Zoo has made South Australians honored by carrying gold home. It was declared at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards 2022 that happened in Sydney on Friday night.

The Australian Tourism Awards commemorate invention and extraordinary criterions in tourism throughout the country.

The prominent awards that display the exceptional tourism trades across Australia were organized at Doltone House on Sydney’s Darling Island, revealing the nationwide winners for last year.

75 awards in total were given across 25 groups, with gold, silver and bronze bestowed in each group.

In general, seven South Australian tourism service providers were given the award and placed among the best in the country.

Senator Hon. Don Farrell, the Federal Minister for Trade and Tourism, Zoe Bettison, South Australian Minister for Tourism and Phillipa Harrison, Tourism Australia’s Managing Director took part in the event.

Adelaide Zoo bagged the sought-after gold in the Major Tourism Attraction segment. The awards recognized one of the most iconic attractions Adelaide for its exceptional behind-the-scenes understandings and dedication toward sustainability and protection.

This happens to be the first time that a South Australian tourism organization found its place among the top three in the Major Tourist Attractions segment.

The victory comes in the same year that Adelaide Zoo will rejoice in its 140th anniversary.
