At present, Cuba is excited to the brighter days with tourists as it starts to simplify restrictions after experiencing seven months of lockdown. The tourism sector of Cuba has been a flourishing business till the pandemic hit the world and the nation is currently all prepared to restart it once again.
Last week, Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero declared that 13 provinces in Cuba are being permitted for tourism reopening. Cuba had closed its air and water travel on April 2nd this year.
For travelers though it’s great news, regrettably, Havana, the capital city is not included in the list of 13 provinces until today. Thus, the airport in Havana will also remain closed.
According to the Prime Minister of Cuba, people with possible Coronavirus will not be required to go into quarantine any longer and can cut off from others within the comforts of their home. As travelling is about to make a comeback, it must be remembered that Coronavirus safety regulations are in no way to be disobeyed. You will have to wear masks and maintain distancing when in public places.
The popular beaches, bars, restaurants, and hotels in Cuba that have remained closed till now are looking to reopen and attract visitors. Also, Cuba has been facing a tough time when it comes to the economy. As on one hand, the health issue is serious thing, the economy is declining on the other hand. Therefore, as other countries are reopening tourism, Cuba is following similar steps.
The island witnessed 6000 confirmed cases and 123 deaths due to Coronavirus.
