At Rohtang Pass close to Manali, the tourists are having a great time enjoying in snow and exploring Baralacha and Shinkula Passes in Lahaul and Spiti. Lately, the higher regions of this place received new snowfall because of which the high mountain passes have donned a white mantle.

For Rohtang Pass, permit is necessary as between 9 am and 3 pm, tourists can move to Shinkula and Baralacha Pass without producing any permit. The tourists after the opening of the Atal Tunnel can explore Baralacha and Shinkula from Manali and come back the very day.

For the tourists visiting Manali, the 13,058 feet high Rohtang Pass is their first choice but with only 1,200 vehicles permitted on a daily basis as per the guidelines of the National Green Tribunal and formalities to look for a permit, the tourists by crossing the Atal Tunnel are now loving to move towards 16,040 feet high Baralacha Pass in Lahaul valley to witness snow. The tourist number going towards Baralacha and Shinkula is more than those visiting the Rohtang Pass.

Keeping in view the liking of the tourists to move towards Baralacha, Himachal Tourism Development Corporation for Baralacha has initiated its luxury bus service of late.

Darcha is 101 kms from Manali. The Baralacha Pass is on the Leh road is 45 kms from Darcha. Tourist attractions like Zingzingbar, Patseu, and Bharatpur City are the centre of tourist attraction as well.
