Aida Cruises extends pause of operations until August

Aida Cruises recently announced that it has decided to extend its pause of operations until August 31. The decision comes after the Carnival Corporation-owned line confirmed around last month that it would cancel all North American sailings in 2020 in light of the number of European departures that has now been axed.

The move comes in the wake of the coronavirus crisis that has harshly impacted the global cruise industry. As informed by the cruise line the latest action does not apply to individual departures from AIDAprima, AIDAperla and AIDAdiva. Aida Cruises said in a recent statement that the company is in close and constant contact with all of the relevant authorities.

It has been informed that authorities will be discussing the brand’s interest in restarting cruise operations once the right time arrives under adapted conditions and in full compliance with all sanitation and hygiene standards and protocols for physical distancing. The cruise line has also mentioned that it will provide all guests who would fail to take a trip according to original schedule with updated information immediately.
