In the Space of a few days, Scrabster has welcomed its second set of cruise – ship visitors.
The 71,204-tonne AIDAsol had docked in Thurso Bay on Wednesday. Passengers were shuttled onshore and returned later in the day.
As massive as it can get, the ship, operated by AIDA Cruises, has 1097 cabins and can accommodate some 2200 passengers. It was due to arrive in Lerwick early on Thursday.
Harbour trust manager Sandy Mackie declared that this week there had been some late additions to the 2023 programme, with a potential 21 ships booked to visit.
Pointing out he also mentioned that however with the cruises, this might alter and will be subject to weather.
The £18.9 million redevelopment of the St Ola is helping Scrabster to attract more cruise – ship and offshore energy businesses.
